About the Artist

Richard Daugherty obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from California State University, Long Beach, where he met his lovely wife Linda (also an artist and photographer). He made use of this degree by pursuing a 30-year career in software development, quality assurance and project management.

As his high-tech career began winding down, Richard replaced it with a study of art and photography. This led to the discovery that his true purpose in life was and is to create photographic art, which he now pursues with great joy and passion.

Richard and Linda have made numerous trips to Hawai'i during the past 30 years, and dream of someday owning property there. They feel most at home on the Big Island, officially known as Hawai'i and also called The Orchid Isle because of orchid-growing's significance in its agricultural economy and cultural identity.
